Vote Gerald Wallace into the 2010 All-Star Game
Things were kind of rough out on the road last week. We were struggling, so it felt good to come home and get a win in front of our hometown crowd. Hopefully that will jumpstart us and gets us headed in the right direction.
Getting Stephen Jackson is a great addition for us. He’s a bigger two-guard who is able to score in a variety of ways. He’s a great rebounder. He’s a great assist guy. He brings so many dimensions to the team, and that makes the offense a lot better for us. I think he can open things up for us on both ends of the court. Defensively, it makes things easier with a bigger lineup – everybody can play every different position. He’s able to guard ones, twos, threes and even fours if he has to, so it made our rotations, our schemes and our defensive principles a whole lot easier.
I don’t think it was too difficult getting Stephen incorporated into the system after the trade. Our main thing was just trying to get the offense on track. I think once we got those guys (Jackson and Acie Law), Coach Brown changed the offense and structured it so it would be simpler. It wasn’t a lot of details. Everything was simpler. He just wanted us to go out and play basketball. It wasn’t so much changing the offense as putting a plug on it – we were focusing on maybe the first two pages, rather than the first 30 pages.
I think things really started to come together last night. I think the combination of being back home with the new guys, being able to sleep in your own bed, letting everything pass that has happened the last six or seven games when things weren’t going our way – to come in and get a win over our home crowd hopefully has us turned around and we can move forward from here.
It was also good to see some of our young guys get a chance to play yesterday. Not only that, but to get the win, and the type of win where we were able to get some rest and get those younger guys in. Derek Brown is actually my rook, so I notice a lot of things that other people don’t see. He’s calm, he’s versatile, he’s able to do a lot of things on the court and able to run the floor. I didn’t know how easily he could get to the basket, but I think a lot of his defenders are caught off guard because he seems so relaxed and laid back – then all of a sudden he just explodes. He wants to learn, loves to play hard and wants to win every time. I think he’ll turn out to be pretty good… I’ve tried to take him under my wing, but rooks these days are very hard – they’re complicated, but I try to do as much as I can.
But that type of win against a pretty good Indiana team can build your confidence when you get back home, especially coming off that losing streak. I think we’re all getting on the same track and trying to get everybody healthy. Then we can push it from here – let’s turn that seven-game losing streak into a seven- game winning streak.

I surely wish that you will get that 7 game winning streak like u said but I just want to encercle the point that it;’s not enough to be tough or to have a good lineup : u guys must execute in clutch times and u should also avoid too many close like you did last year when you lost ur playoffs hopes: so bring that same play u played yesterday to amajority of the following games… and good luck in the competitivity of this league……
I ment to say ” avoid too many close GAMES” in my previous note… Keep up the good D….

“Let’s turn that seven-game losing streak into a seven- game winning streak.”
I believe in you guys!
And one more thing. …Gerald, common man!
I think its Rufus that make us win! he has the luck!
G-W, a much needed win Saturday night! It was an all around great team effort. It’s nice to see the entire team play with the intensity and the will to win! The Bobcats were fun to watch. When the fans see the kind of effort you guys showed on the court against Indiana, they will rally in support. Keep the fire going and win 7 in a row! With the Panthers dragging, it’s the Bobcats’ opportunity to shine!
I dont mind GForce’s ppg going down because at the moment he is just crazy with rebounds (20 p and 20 r game, are u kiddin me!?). Be nice to see some more blocks too
What up y’all, you ready for another 10 turnover pro-formance tonight???? Holla! Man I’m gunna run down that court, drive the lane throw it up and get blocked or turn it over, and you know I’ll get fouled because I always do, and then I’ll throw my hands up like Mylie Cyrus and say shoo ref, I got fouled. Come on man.
G-Dub: It was great to see the crowd excited again! The game against the Pacers was a win we all needed, both players and fans. Although we are in a small market, it’s WINS that will get the Bobcats noticed and your MUCH DESERVED All-Star selection!! In my opinion, the Cats are a better team than the stats show. I just wish the Guards would pass the ball more to the open man. Looking forward to the new win streak,,,Let’s Go Cats!!!
Good luck during the season Gerald. I got you on my fantasy team and I like that you’re getting those rebounds! Once you get your offensive game back it’s OVER for everybody! GET MORE BLOCKS AND START SHOOTING 3s AGAIN PLEASE! Haha just kidding.
I wish you guys continued success! Keep up the great work Gerald! Smooches
