The Bobcats continued their winning ways Saturday with a 106-98 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers at Time Warner Cable Arena®.
The Charlotte defense played a big role in the win, forcing the Clippers (25-41) to commit 23 turnovers that produced 32 points for the Bobcats (33-31).
“Any time you get a team to turn the ball over, you are going to get good shots,” said Bobcats Head Coach Larry Brown. “The more possessions you can create for your team, the better.”
The win is the fifth straight for Charlotte who has a tough stretch of games in the next week. The Bobcats will play five games in seven days, four of which come on the road.
“This is going to make or break us,” said Bobcats guard Stephen Jackson of the upcoming schedule. “This is something we’ve got to show that we’re ready for, and it starts Sunday at Orlando.”
The Bobcats were led by Jackson’s 24 points and six assists, while Boris Diaw added 16 points and Raymond Felton had 10 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.
Gerald Wallace had a strong start for the Bobcats with 17 points and six rebounds in his first 21 minutes, but left the game after suffering a sprained left ankle in the second quarter.
Wallace went up for a layup against Clippers guard Baron Davis, but a foul by Davis sent Wallace crashing to the floor. Davis was charged with a flagrant foul one on the play.
The Bobcats will have shootaround Saturday morning and will evaluate Wallace’s status then.
